Yoga at Mon Plaisir

Lynda Teasdale

19th - 24th April 2021

Developed in India, Yoga is a spiritual practice that has evolved over 5000 years. Yoga is a powerful mindfulness practice. It builds strength, increases flexibility and reduces stress. It can stretch both the physical and mental capacity of the participants and it is an exciting journey of learning for all participants including the instructor. It is among the most accessible forms of exercise and can lead to a healthier body, mind and spirit.

During the course Lynda will teach Vinyasa Flow and Yin/Yang Yoga. Yang is more external, dynamic, warming and upward and there will be session every morning. Yin Yoga is a slower practice where poses are held for longer, working on deep connective tissues and joints in the body. These sessions will be in the afternoon or early evening. Lynda’s experience as a teacher enables her to teach a mixed ability group offering adjustments to make the practice accessible to all. Yin Yoga is especially helpful for anyone suffering from degenerative conditions or significant mobility issues. There will also be the opportunity during the week for students to have a one-to-one session with Lynda to look at any individual problems.

The week will allow plenty of time for rest and relaxation in the lovely garden at Mon Plaisir and for sight-seeing and other activities. These include options such as

  • Visiting the local town and enjoying the various bars and restaurants

  • Shopping at the Thursday morning market

  • Visiting a local vineyard

  • Experiencing making a typical French recipe such as ‘brioche’ or ‘tarte de jour’.

Lunch and dinner main be taken at Mon Plaisir or may be enjoyed at the local establishments. The course has been designed to offer maximum flexibility so the students can choose how they would like to spend their free time.
